Revenue Expectations for Start-Ups and Scale-Ups: Predictions for the Year Ahead

As a start-up, scale-up or SME founder, you understand that revenue is the lifeblood of your business. Without it, your company cannot survive, let alone thrive. That's why it's essential to explore revenue expectations for the year ahead and make informed decisions to drive growth.

In my recent SME business survey report, I asked founders what they were forecasting for this year in terms of revenue growth. It seems that selling isn't the biggest concern for most firms for the year ahead.

Whilst there’s not significant sales growth being seen across the board (only 6% are forecasting significant revenue increases), there are far more firms predicting they will increase sales to some degree (50% of businesses) this year versus those that think they will see a fall (27% of firms).

While it's true that significant sales growth isn't always easy to achieve, it is good news, especially in light of current economic headwinds, that more than half of businesses are predicting some degree of sales increase this year.

However, with more firms expecting higher sales growth this coming year, there are also more expecting a bigger drop-off. As a start-up or scale-up founder, you need to make sure you have the right strategies and resources in place to achieve your revenue goals.

This is where hiring a fractional small business exec can help. A fractional executive can bring the experience and expertise you need to make informed decisions that drive growth. With a fractional exec on board, you can focus on what you do best - growing your business - while they handle the day-to-day operations.
